Animal Care - Abandonment, Stray, Cruelty, Disturbance, Fighting, Prohibited animal,Wild Animal, Traps If you believe that any pet or animal has been abandoned, is a stray, subjected to cruelty, is causung a disturbance, has been fighting, is a prohibited animal, you encounter a wild animal or need traps to capture an animal please fill out our online service request form. Once the information is received the situation will be properly investigated by the Animal Care Officer. Please note: The Highland Village Animal Care Officer only operates during regular business hours (8a-5p, M-F, excluding holidays). For tracking and management purposes we would prefer that you fill out an online service request. Your request will be immediately routed to email. In Emergency Situations dial 911.
Animal Care - Bite If you have been bitten by an animal please fill out our online service request form. All animal bites need to be reported to animal care. Remember your health is important so the more information you provide the better. The animal involved needs to be placed in a quarantine to watch for signs of rabies. The quarantine period is 10 days from the date of the bite. If the animal has rabies, it will show within those 10 days. When any currently vaccinated dog or cat has bitten, scratched or otherwise attacked a person, anyone having knowledge of the incident should immediately notify the Animal Care Officer by calling Dispatch or submitting an online service request (after hours). Once the information is received the situation will be properly handled by the Animal Care Officer. Please note: Th
