Public Works/Trees/Brush
Question:

I missed the week of brush collection and have branches to be picked up. How can I get rid of them? Is there any place I can take them?
Answer:

If you miss brush collection, you still have the option of disposing of branches that are less than three inches in diameter by tying them into a bundle.  Bundles may be up to four feet long and up to two feet in diameter and be tied with biodegradable string or twine.  Smaller branches may also be placed into paper yard waste bags.  Each bundle or bag requires a yard waste sticker (available at local grocery and hardware stores.)  Place them out on your regular garbage day between March 15 and December 15.  There is no yard waste collection between December 15 and March 15.

There is no facility in Naperville for residents to dispose of branches or yard waste. There is a composting facility in West Chicago that will, for a fee, accept branches delivered to their facility.  This company is DuPage Yardwaste Co., 1195 W. Washington, West Chicago, IL 60185, (630) 876-8900.  Another possibility is Hamman Farms, Route 71 (5 miles west of Rt 47) in Yorkville, IL, (630) 554-9101. Both compost sites are closed over the winter months.
